Yahweh

.
Genesis 2:7
And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

Do you ever just bask in the glory of God's name?
Now, I'm a Christian, so often times people expect me to be the self-righteous, perfect, "knows God" type of person. But also, I'm a natural, human sinner. As much as I would like to focus on God's word and dwell on Him, it's hard. I slip. I underestimate the power of God. I mess up, and sin even more. In other words, I become defeated.
A few weeks ago, I was reminded of the simple name of Christ... "Jesus". Most people in the world have heard the word "Jesus". Heck, I grew up in a Christian family. I heard it every day, for the most part. I heard it at church and in school. However, it was just "Jesus" to me. It was just a name, a person... that special God, however I did not dwell in the fact that His name meant anything more. I didn't even think about how powerful the name of Christ was until I was nearly 14.

In Genesis 2:7, it says God used dust from the ground, and breathed into it, and it became a living soul. Ultimately, dirt became man, and man reproduced, making the world's population. Could anyone else have done that? Could you pick up a pile of dirt and blow on it and it become something cool? No. It won't even become something simple at a flower. It remains a pile of dirt, because we are from dirt itself.
I was listening a documentary by Rob Bell a few weeks ago, and he simply spoke about the name of Jesus, which translates into "Yahweh" in the Hebrew language. Immediately, he reminded me how closely God is showing himself in our lives. As Christians, we all know God lives in us and around us, but do we realize how every single breathe in our body is coordinated by Christ? Rob used an example using Christ's name, "Yahweh" and how closely it resembles a human breathe. He went on about how, unknowingly, every soul in the world, Christian or not, is breathing and speaking the name Jesus. The name of Christ is living in every person in some way, even with the fast pace of this world. Crazy, huh?

I few days ago, I was sitting in my room, scared about something(unsure of what it was at the moment), but I remained silent. I didn't say anything, or do anything. I just sat, and breathed, listening to Christ's name run through my body over and over again. Eventually, softly speaking to myself "Yahweh, Yahweh....". Moments later, I felt a peace run over me, and I was no longer scared and uneasy.
It's funny how just the acknowledgement of Christ will make things better.

Think of something that you do, see, or hear constantly. How can you see Christ in those areas? It could be as simple as a sunflower, or as crazy as a baby's laugh. Personally, I'm constantly finding myself listening to God through the beat of a foot drum in any given song. I'll be standing in Wednesday night worship at church, and suddenly feel God's presence by listening intently to the drums playing in the background, often ignoring the guitars and voices(maybe this is why I want to learn how to play the drums so bad....).
People might think I'm weird for it, but that's one reason I can hear the name of Christ around me, and I'm completely fine with it.

Jesus is not just a name. The name of Christ is life.
